Picton Castle's first global circumnavigation voyage took place from 1997 to 1999. Since then, it has circled the world six more times, for a total of seven global circumnavigations. He has also visited the Great Lakes twice, sailed numerous times on excursions to the east coast of the Americas, completed a trip to the Caribbean and in 2008 sailed to Europe, Africa and the Caribbean on a voyage of the Atlantic. This vessel is used for educational trips and sailing training, with a basic crew of 10 to 12 teachers up to 40 trainees in basic navigation and vessel maintenance techniques. In June 2019, Picton Castle returned from its seventh trip around the world. Plans for an eighth trip in 2020 have been postponed until 2021 due to the covid-19 pandemic.
